Embracing 2023
In the vibrant mosaic of 2023, my heart overflows with gratitude for the love, laughter, and cherished moments that painted each chapter. From dynamic media launches to personal milestones and the poignant loss of my mother-in-law, every experience intricately weaves a unique tapestry.
2023 brought tears of joy, laughter, loss, and triumph. In April, amidst personal loss, I was honored as a finalist for “PR Champion of the Year (Agency).” éclat PR Media’s journey, from inception to recognition at Marketing Interactive PR Awards 2023, mirrors growth and collective achievements.
It all started with Mrs Singapore World 2022, where I was crowned ‘Mrs Inspirational,’ setting the stage for my mission to break the stigma around mental health. Joining World Madam Singapore 2023 unfolded unexpected accolades. Crowned with the Media Choice Madam Award and shortlisted for a talent performance during the Grand Finals, I boldly stepped out of my comfort zone. Fulfilling a dream by performing piano in front of 200 guests and judges, thanks to World Madam Singapore and its amazing committee.
My recent profound journey into solitude took place in the psychiatry ward, two months ago, following an overdose. It lasted 11 days with no connection to the outside world. Amidst the quiet pages of books, the comforting solace found in the Bible, and the therapeutic strokes of coloring, I emerged with a clearer mind and renewed purpose. It was a difficult, tiring, and painful journey through Sengkang Hospital, the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), and Singapore General Hospital.
Chosen for Mrs Asia Pacific 2023, I proudly embrace the roles of Mrs Singapore Asia Pacific Cosmopolitan 2023 and Mrs Asia Pacific Empowerment Beauty 2023/2024 in Mrs Asia Pacific 2023, carrying the torch for empowerment and breaking the silence.
Interviewed by The Singapore Women’s Weekly, Lifestyle Collective, and Our Parenting World, my journey resonates. Through personal struggles, my aim is to be a voice saying ‘You are not alone,’ fostering open dialogues on mental health.
A year of self-discovery, resilience, and unwavering faith. Amidst trials, I found strength and wisdom in God’s grace, navigating with courage. Stepping into 2024, it’s a year of deeper connections and continued impact. Grateful to God and everyone who stood by me. Here’s to creating a difference, inspiring others, and embracing the joy and growth that 2024 holds.
